Stormwater from the Waterford Estate will be directed into the Laratinga Wetlands

The District Council of Mount Barker is a leader in wastewater management, targeting 100% reuse.

Project Complete

Construction of the weir and installation of stormwater pipes has been completed.  Stormwater is now being directed into the Laratinga Wetlands.

Project Overview

The capture, treatment and reuse of stormwater through the Laratinga Wetlands provides a cost effective natural primary treatment and an additional source of water for maintaining seasonal water levels in the Laratinga Wetlands.

The project includes the installation of a weir and stormwater pipes.  The stormwater pipes will be placed under the existing Linear Trail requiring the trail to be closed periodically to all users while contractors are on site.

For worker and trail user safety, please observe all signage and exercise caution in changed conditions.
