A new area at Totness for employment is planned to provide the opportunity for the creation of 550 future local jobs.

Council is supporting the creation of new “Urban Employment Lands”, comprising of 35 hectares in Totness, which is located between Hahndorf and Littlehampton.

“Totness is a prime area for new business growth, it is located away from residential land and has great access to the freeway via Follet Close,” said Greg Waller General Manager Planning and Development. The new Urban Employment Lands will contribute to the economic future of our district through additional business and employment opportunities”.

The rezoning of the land is through the draft Totness Employment Lands Development Plan Amendment (DPA). Public consultation to rezone the land has been approved by Council and commences on 31 January 2018 and will finish on 28 March 2018.

You have the opportunity to comment on the DPA by making a written submission. The closing date for all written submissions is the 28 March 2018.

Please clearly indicate whether you wish to be heard in support of your submission at the public meeting of Council’s Strategic Planning and Development Policy Committee to be held at 4.30pm 16 April at the Council Chambers, 6 Dutton Road, Mount Barker.

Those who indicate on their submission that they wish to be heard at the public meeting will receive written confirmation. Copies of all submissions received will be available for inspection by interested persons at the Council Offices, 6 Dutton Road, Mount barker until the date of the public meeting.

Please note that if there are no submissions indicating an interest in speaking to the Amendment the public meeting may not be held.
