Community Grants

The Council is committed to encouraging community groups in the council area to deliver projects that are of benefit to the community. The Community Grant scheme is a way of empowering communities to apply for funding to progress and improve their local area through planned assistance and equitable distribution of limited funding from council.

The Community Grants Program is offered twice a year around February and September. Applications for 2019/2020 Round 1 open Monday 19 August 2019 and close Monday 23 September 2019.

Mount Barker District Council invites not for profit community groups and organisations in the district to apply for Community Grants. Further information can be found in the Community Grants Program Criteria document below:

Environmental Grants

The Environmental Grant Program is a new initiative and will be run once a year around February.

The purpose of this program is to offer financial assistance to not for profit community, environmental, service groups and associations that provide benefit to the local and regional environment. The intention of these grants is to consistently manager the large number of requests for funding that Council receives. Funds are not provided on a recurrent basis and funding success does not guarantee Council contributions in future years.

There are three grant categories:

  1. School environment programs
  2. Landowner environment programs
  3. Works on Public land

Further information can be found in the Environmental Grants Criteria document below:
